Itinerary
30 minutes:
We will begin with a gentle warmup: softly impacting our bodies with our hands at varying speeds, stretching the facial muscles, warming up in partners, etc.. We will then undertake a somatic journey into our bodies: affirming the beauty of our physical vessels, acknowledging and silencing our inner critics, insecurities and judgements, we will slowly connect circular and linear movements with different limbs, opening our bodies to various movement possibilities.
30 minutes:
Expanding on the aforementioned movement possibilities, we will investigate dancing within various levels of energy, tension, and concepts: 20-100%, tension and looseness, folding and unfolding, tracing energies through the body, etc.
30-60 minutes:
We will investigate moving in and out of the floor at varying speeds, finding the most efficient and natural pathways of our individual movement languages. We will also investigate how our movements can cause us to travel through space, relying on creative tools to build momentum and energy with our bodies and uncovering the undiscovered potential within each of us. Finally, we will explore the possibilities of reactive movement and instantaneous choices, as well as how all of the concepts covered will apply to underwater movement.
